#helloyellow day - YoungMinds UK
Tue 10 Oct 2023UPDATE:
We have raised £27.75. Thank you so much for your generosity.
We are marking World Mental Health Day 2023 by supporting the charity YoungMinds. We are wearing yellow, either a little or a lot, to help show that there is support all around us.
Who are YoungMinds?
"YoungMinds are the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health. We want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health, and all young people get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what."
We held a whole school assembly to discuss the significance of the day and remind everyone who they can turn to if they need some support. Our children are looking fabulous and are spreading some sunshine throughout the school today! We also started to learn a new song.. "Don't Worry, Be Happy!"

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon 3rd October 2023
Tue 03 Oct 2023We had the most amazing joint coffee afternoon with St.Michael's Church this afternoon. It was lovely to welcome both parents and members of the local community. Our visitors had the opportunity to have a guided tour hosted by children in year 5 and 6. We made an incredible £191 during the afternoon which has kindly and generously been made up to £225.
Thank you to all who attended, provided delicious cakes and visited after-school.

Assembly
Wed 20 Sep 2023This morning, we talked about diversity and celebrating differences. We watched a clip from Strictly Come Dancing which showed Rose Ayling-Ellis dancing and discussed how Rose could not hear the music but could still dance so beautifully. We then began to learn a new song with Makaton Signing- "When It's a Sunny Day!" The children tried really hard to add the signs to the words. We will be learning a little more every day.
Mrs Greedy then taught us how to say please, thank you and good morning everyone. And all before 9:20am. A fabulous start to our day!

Eco-Schools Meeting
Tue 19 Sep 2023This morning we held our first meeting as an eco-council and began to formulate a plan of action. This month we are focussing in on two areas- litter and biodiversity.
The group had some fabulous ideas and ways for us to develop the school and feed our work into the local community.
Take a look at the Eco-Council page under the "Children" banner for more information and updates.

Family Learning Fun
Fri 15 Sep 2023We have opened our doors to our fabulous parents and carers already this year and shared two days of art with Darrell Wakelam. To celebrate Roald Dahl day, the children worked from 3 different books. Dragons Class created their own witches, Phoenix Class worked on Esio Trot and made tortoises from just one paper plate! Unicorns created some amazing crocodiles using a range of materials.
Such a lovely couple of days. Thank you to all who came to share the learning with us.
