Computing
What does Computing look like at Middlezoy and Othery Schools?
Computing lessons are taught weekly, with topics lasting for a half-term. These topics are taught in a two-year cycle and fall into four categories: Computing systems and networks, Creating media, Programming and Data and information. Over a two-year cycle the pupils will develop understanding and confidence in these areas and have opportunities to solve problems and be creative with technology.
Throughout our Computing curriculum our learners will be able to:
- Identify input and output devices and their uses
- Design and create stop-frame animations
- Plan, create, test, develop and fix bugs in a variety of programs
- Create and use identification tools and databases
- Gather and analyse various forms of data and explain how data can be used
- Produce and edit a range of audio and video content
- Create and evaluate digital media, games, quizzes and web pages
