We run a team points system at Middlezoy and Othery. Our teams are based on local cities and were chosen by the children and staff. All children, from Hatchlings up belong to a team, and all teaching and support staff do too.
Each September, the children in year 6 have the chance to become a Team Captain. Using the British Values, we run a voting system where the children are voted for by their peers.
Team points are rewarded for a number of things, including- but not limited to...
- Showing courtesy
- Showing respect to others
- Showing compassion
- Showing understanding
- Being kind
- Being thoughtful
They can also be earned in class for excellent effort, wonderful work and presentation.
Each week, the total team points for each house is added up by two year 6 pupils. They present the results in our celebration assembly. Every term, the winning team gets to turn the school the colour of their team for a day by adding an item of red, blue, green or yellow to the uniform or by wearing an outfit in that colour.
Our sports day points are also added to give an overall winner for the year.
