GDPR

On 25 May 2018, a big change happened to privacy laws in the UK.

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you more control over how your personal information is used, your right to have your privacy respected and your data protected.

Personal data, sometimes called ‘personal information’, includes your child’s name, address, date of birth, medical details, next of kin contact numbers etc.

Rest assured, robust security has always been a crucial part of everything we do (it is part of our safeguarding role). The new rules make sure that all organisations are set up to protect any personal data they hold and to act appropriately if something goes wrong. As a school, we do have times when we share data with other companies but we make sure that these companies keep this data secure and destroy it after use. This is often referred to as a Data Sharing Agreement and we only share essential data.

Privacy Notice

We work hard to keep your personal data secure, which includes regularly reviewing our Privacy Notice. Please visit the Preston Primary Academy Trust.

Have your details changed?

As a school, we have always been aware of the sensitive data we hold, keep it secure and check with you regularly, through the Data Collection Sheet updates, that you are happy for us to hold this information and we shall continue to safeguard your data in this way.

As part of GDPR, we are obliged to check with you regularly that the details we hold about your family are correct. So, if any of your details have changed recently (address, phone numbers, emergency contacts, updates to your child’s medical conditions etc), please contact the School Office so we can update our records. The office can be contacted by calling 01823 698465 Middlezoy or 01823698464 Othery School or email the school (see contact us or link to contact us)
