Maths

At Middlezoy and Othery Schools, we provide a high-quality Maths education.  We follow the National Curriculum for Maths and aim to ensure that our children:

• Become fluent in the fundamentals of maths, through varied and frequent practice developing the ability to recall knowledge quickly and accurately. Over time, we introduce the children to increasingly complex problems which require them to apply their knowledge and reasoning skills. 
• Learn to reason mathematically by developing the skills of enquiry, looking for relationships and generalisations to support or refute an idea using mathematical language. 
• Can use and apply their understanding and knowledge to  solve a variety of single and multi-step problems with increasing resilience through breaking down the problem into smaller steps.
