Welcome to Hatchlings. The Early Years Foundation Stage is a crucial stage in your child’s development, with research showing that children learn more rapidly in the first seven years of life than at any other time. It is therefore vitally important that the children are given every opportunity to fulfil their potential. This is why we have such a strong focus on early years and a small but wonderful Early Years team led by our experienced Early Years teacher Mrs Ceri Gardiner and strongly supported by our Pre-School Room Supervisor Miss Laura Wall alongside Mrs Sarah Greedy and Mrs Chelsea Hale. Our curriculum follows the guidance of the EYFS Statutory framework.
As a parent you play a fundamental role and, in addition to this, our Pre-School team hope to play their part by offering your child a variety of experiences and activities designed to further their individual development. Our aim is to help your child discover that learning is an enjoyable and worthwhile process.
We are fortunate at Othery School, to have an amazing outside learning area as well as a fabulous indoor learning space. Being on the Infant School site means that, when the time comes, transition to the reception class is seamless.
