This term Key Stage One are completing the topic
My wonderful world!
We will start by learning all about the village we live in, comparing it to a larger town and then comparing it to a village in another country.
We will be learning about celebrations we may take part in focusing on why and how we celebrate these; for example Harvest, Bonfire night and Christmas.
Our English sessions will be based on a book called 'A balloon for Granddad' which is about a balloon that goes on a great adventure, seeing lots of exciting things on his travels before it finds Granddads house. We will be writing our own stories thinking about the things that we might pass in our village or the nearby towns.
In Maths we will continue to develop our understanding of the value and place of a number and how to complete number calculations and problems.
A busy but exciting term.
This term Foundation Stage will take time to settle and learn new routines.
We will begin to recognise letters and the sound they make, putting them together to read and spell words.
We are learning to count, recognise and work with numbers up to 10.
We will be learning different nursery rhymes and of course following the interests of the children using their likes and own ideas!
